Happy Presidents Day! - Hallie Crawford
Happy Presidents Day! Iâm sure you are familiar with this quote from President Barack Obama: âChange will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones weve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.â Change is never easy, especially when you are in career transition. Fear (among others) can be a big obstacle to change that you want to make. The obstacles I see time and time again for people wanting to make a career change are: not knowing what to look for in a job (so they take one that is âgood enoughâ that they donât truly enjoy) and negative beliefsâ"not believing they can successfully make the change. Dont settle for anything less than what you deserve just because of these obstacles. With practice, you can retrain your mind to see past perceived limitations, which are only a figment of your imagination anyway! With sufficient self-exploration, you will be able to pinpoint the exact qualities of the ideal career for you⦠and even the characteristics that you donât want in a career. The people I know who are successful in finding a career they love and making the career change, are not people who avoided failure or didnât have obstacles â" but people who knew how to overcome a failure or an obstacle. It can be challenging, even intimidating moving forward in your career. Would you be satisfied if the leaders of our country settled with our future? If when they make decisions for our country, they took the easy way out and avoided obstacles? Absolutely not! We hold the highest expectations for our leaders and those who serve our country. Why should our expectations for ourselves be any less? Making changes in your career can take time, but dont let the process linger. Stay motivated, and stay focused. Remember, you are the only one who can make the ultimate change. If youd like help with career change, contact us to see how our career coaching services can benefit you. Career Help Coach
